Together we designed a shoe that highlights our shared devotion to minimalist design and unparalleled craftsmanship. We also created a bench crafted by the expert woodworkers at Japan’s most respected furniture manufacturer, Karimoku Case Study. The Koio x Norm Architects shoe is a hybrid of an Oxford style and a comfortable sneaker. Handcrafted in Italy from Italian leather in Black Timber, it has a collapsible heel—an element that nods to our shared appreciation for multifunctional design.

Also available in Cliff suede, the Koio x Norm Architects shoe features a singular stitch on either side of the vamp. This stitch is not ornamental—rather, it is a functional detail that provides reinforcement while also lending the design an air of refinement.

Koio x Norm ARCHITECTS Bench

The Koio x Norm Architects bench is crafted in Japan by the master woodworkers at Karimoku Case Study. It features an oak base and luxuriously smooth Sørensen Royal nubuck seat cushion. Each corner is reinforced with walnut spline joints that mimic the stitches at either side of the Koio x Norm Architects shoe.
